A » In blockchain, a chain reorganization occurs when a longer chain of valid blocks overtakes the previously accepted blockchain. This can happen when miners discover a new sequence of blocks with more accumulated proof of work. During a reorganization, the blockchain reverts to the point of divergence and adopts the new chain, which can lead to temporary inconsistencies in transactions until consensus is reestablished.

A »A chain reorganization occurs when a blockchain's nodes disagree on the valid chain, causing a switch to a different branch. This happens when a new block is added to a competing branch, making it longer and more valid than the current chain, resulting in the network updating to the new chain.
